An iPhone 5 worth $15 million! An iPhone 5 worth $15 million!(0)

A device like this always gives us answers to questions like what do the rich do with their endless money? Well if you happen to know someone like that, here’s a way they could easily spend $15 million on an iPhone 5 worth much less.

Embossed with diamonds all over the body of the iPhone 5, and sporting a 26 carat black diamond home button, a businessman from Hong Kong had it customized. The rest of the phone is encrusted by 600 white diamonds and is made by British designer Stuart Hughes.

The perception of how the phone looks for real is something we will leave for our readers to imagine and understand. We would definitely add though that the businessman who ordered it has his family background from that of black diamonds. He maybe extending his affection for diamonds by having them studded in an iPhone 5 worth so much! Certainly a good handset to choose though.

AT&T to Launch ‘HD Voice’ Support for iPhone 5 This Year AT&T to Launch ‘HD Voice’ Support for iPhone 5 This Year(0)

Alongside T-Mobile’s announcement that they will finally begin offering the iPhone with their new no-contract plans, T-Mobile also became the first U.S. carrier to support the iPhone 5′s new HD Voice feature (wideband audio). HD Voice provides significantly improved voice calling and in-call audio quality (despite the fact that Apple announced the feature for the iPhone many months ago).

HD Voice requires support not only in a phone’s hardware, but from the carrier network as well. Not wanting to be left out of the game, AT&T has announced that they are planning to launch HD Voice support later this year as well.

AllThingsD reports:

Speaking on Monday, AT&T senior VP Kris Rinne said that the carrier will roll-out its own support for the technology later this year as it begins to route voice calling over its LTE network.

“HD Voice is part of our voice over LTE strategy,” Rinne said, speaking at th VentureBeat Mobile Summit in Sausalito, Calif. Sprint has also talked about its plans for HD Voice.

Call quality has been an issue for AT&T iPhone users since day one – especially in the early days when AT&T was the exclusive carrier of the iPhone. HD Voice should help the carrier improve call quality across the board – something which users should be very grateful for indeed. AT&T is planning to unveil a new “Advanced LTE” technology as well, which should also improve the overall quality of their network for newer devices.

HD Voice Support Comes to i5

It’s good news for AT&T users to be sure – but the question remains: What took them so long to support a feature that Apple rolled out clear back in October? In their defense, wideband audio has been around for ages – Apple’s decision to bring it to the iPhone is simply bringing it into the spotlight.

Battery drainage issue being Reported with iOS 6.1.3 Battery drainage issue being Reported with iOS 6.1.3(0)

Apple released the iOS 6.1.3 update last week, fixing a lock screen security flaw. But, as seems to be the norm for iOS updates, big and small, some users are reporting battery life issues after installing the update. Users have been posting complaints on Twitter, and in Apple’s Support Communities.

Cult of Mac:

“Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner,” one user wrote. ”As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13 percent of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and I’ve been using iPhones since the first one.”

“I am too losing 1 percent of battery every few mins,” posted another user. “I’ve completely erased all content and settings and started as new but it’s still no good.”

At the time of this article, the “iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage” thread has had more than 6,400 views, and almost 80 replies. Frustratingly, the issue doesn’t seem to be limited to specific devices or carriers.

While some have reported good results by hard-resetting their device and cycling their battery, others report they have performed the same steps with no improvements.

I haven’t noticed any decrease in battery life since updating over the weekend. How about you, dear readers? Any problems with battery life since installing iOS 6.1.3? Please let us know any issues you’ve experienced in the comments section below.

Apple Set to Launch iPhone 5S and New iPads at Special June 29 Event Apple Set to Launch iPhone 5S and New iPads at Special June 29 Event(0)

We’ve heard plenty of rumors up to this point regarding Apple’s next-gen iPhone and ‘iPad 5.’ We’ve even heard whispers of when Apple might release their next devices – but a new report from Gizmorati marks the first rumor claiming a specific release date for Apple’s next generation mobile devices. According to the report, Apple will unveil both devices on June 29, 2013.

Gizmorati (via Technorati):

An inside source from Apple (also confirmed by a third party) told Gizmorati that its both devices, the iPhone 5S and the iPad 5 will be unveiled during a special event called ‘Original Passion, New Ideas’, on June 29, 2013. This event is intended to celebrate six years from the launch of the original iPhone, under the leadership of Steve Jobs and the release of the iPhone 5S and iPad 5, under the leadership of Apple’s current CEO, Tim Cook, as both of these devices are developed entirely under Cook’s authority (Businessweek reports that iPhone 5 was the last Apple device to get the Steve Jobs’ blessing before production).

Apple typically holds their WWDC developer event in June – which would make a separate event held so close to WWDC seem quite unusual indeed. The rumored event be structured as a celebration the six-year anniversary of the first iPhone – and to mark the first iPhone device that was designed and manufactured without Steve Jobs’ involvement.

While such an event may restore confidence in consumers and investors that Steve Jobs’ ideas and passions are still alive and well at Apple, I’m more than a little bit skeptical about the claims. First, it seems strange that the report is coming from Gizmorati – a relatively unknown blog founded in 2012 – rather than typical Apple sources such as The Wall Street Journal or Bloomberg. Coupling that with the unusual timing of the event makes this report seem quite unlikely – but as always, only time will tell.

As for me, I’m not crossing my fingers for a July 29th Apple event. This reeks of bullshit.

Rumor: iPhone 6 delayed till 2014? Rumor: iPhone 6 delayed till 2014?(0)

A week ago we reported that as per bits of rumors, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 might be seeing a launch in 2013. The iPhone 5S (or whatever it’s going to be called) is more or less a certainty given Apple’s track record, yet two handsets in a year?

That appears to be a stretch and exceptionally unlike Apple, admitting that given that Apple started the iPad 4 less than a year after the iPad 3, we find it tricky to state what Apple’s suspecting.

Nonetheless consistent with a later report by Peter Misek, an expert at Jefferies that the iPhone 6 with a 4.8” screen will see a launch in 2014, prescribing that it might miss it assumed 2013 timetable because of plausible handling issues concerning its show. His report states,

“We think in- cell is having difficulty ramping to 4.8”, which is making Apple look at switching to on-cell (a different integrated touchscreen technology) and OLED (despite Apple’s suppliers being well behind Samsung in their OLED capabilities) or IGZO.”

It ought to be noted that Misek does not precisely have the best track record with regards to steps taken by Apple, in spite of the fact that to his credit he did anticipate that the iPhone could arrive for Sprint and T-Mobile in 2011. In any case what do you folks suspect? Can 2014 be past the point of no return for Apple to unite the extra large screen market?

After all Android contenders like HTC, Sony, Samsung, and LG have phablets that are estimated no less than 5”, so a 4.8” showcase in 2014 appears a spot moderate, don’t you suspect?

iOS 6 Jailbreak For iPhone 5 And iPad Mini By Team Evad3rs Will Likely Be Released After iOS 6.1 iOS 6 Jailbreak For iPhone 5 And iPad Mini By Team Evad3rs Will Likely Be Released After iOS 6.1(0)

There’s been a lot of talk over the last few months about the future of jailbreaking and whether or not we will continue to see jailbreaks actively worked on by the dev-teams as Apple make internal security changes to iOS. There’s no denying that the mood within the jailbreak community has been extremely sombre of late as users live without that elusive device liberation on iOS 6 and newer devices, but it looks like things are about to take a turn for the positive.

Figureheads of the community like Pod2g, Planetbeing, Musclenerd and Pimskeks today have announced the birth of a new iOS 6 jailbreak team called Evad3rs, with the good news being that it looks like they may just have what they need, and are just waiting for Apple to release iOS 6.1 before they release iOS 6 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5, iPad mini and all other devices to public.

France based Pod2g and legendary developer Planetbeing have been having regular back-and-forth conversations through Twitter and IRC discussing the progress of the jailbreak with significant progress being made in the last few days. The beginning of the week brought the news that the duo had found two additional vulnerabilities in iOS 6 for jailbreak but lacked an initial code execution point for the jailbreak to be a viable public release. Yesterday, Planetbeing announced that there has been “tons of progress the last few days. I think the future is looking bright for jailbreaking”.

That tweet was almost immediately followed up with a post from Pod2g almost begging Apple to release iOS 6.1, leading us to believe that the necessary components are in place for a jailbreak release when 6.1 goes public. If that is the case then we would need to hope that no vulnerabilities are patched when 6.1 does go live.

Of course, there is still no official ETA yet. We will need to exercise a little more patience, which shouldn’t be a problem considering the timescales involved in the production of this jailbreak. It’ll be interesting to see if we are given the luxury of any new jailbreak tools when it is eventually released, but in the meantime the Twitter based announcements do go to prove one thing: that the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak is most definitely ready, and is just waiting for Apple to release the final version of iOS 6.1.

How to Search Your Email Using Siri How to Search Your Email Using Siri(0)

Siri is the intelligent personal assistant that helps you get things done just by asking. It allows you to use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. But it isn’t like traditional voice-recognition software that requires you to remember keywords and speak specific commands. It also understands your natural speech, and it asks you questions if it needs more information to complete a task.

Siri is available on these devices:

  • iPhone 4S or later
  • iPad 3rd generation or later
  • iPad mini
  • iPod touch (5th generation)

Siri is currently in beta and we’ll continue to improve it over time.

Searching through your email on your iOS device can be a pain in the you know what. The search bar in the Mail app works well enough, but what if there was a way you could search by just using your spoken voice? If you have a Siri compatible device, there is a way.

Method 1: If you’re looking for an email from a particular time period, say a specific day or month, just say something like “Show me emails from January 2013 from Glenn”, Siri will diligently search, and as show below left, she will display all emails form the time period from Glenn.

Method 2: If you want to search all of your emails, just bring up Siri and say something like: “Search emails for review.” Siri will search and then display all emails containing the word “review,” as seen above right.

Play with phrasing for your search requests, as Siri responds better to certain wording and phrases.

If you’d like to see a video of how to search for email using Siri, our friends at iOS Advice have created a great video, which you can view below.

iPhone gets bugged after consuming $30,000 worth Of mobile data! iPhone gets bugged after consuming $30,000 worth Of mobile data!(0)

The waves emitted by mobile devices are bound to cause harm to humans. They sometimes cause damages on a very large scale as well. For example, a gentleman from the U.K. giggled when his network operator told him that his mobile Internet usage exceeded way past the cap limit.

26- year old Chris Bovis of Tilbury, Essex, England reached his telephone group, Orange, since the services to the device were discontinued. He was not ready to believe and initially considered it a joke when he was told that he had already consumed more than £10,000 of Internet data.

Anyway when Orange attempted to take £19,000 from his bank (roughly$30,000), his senses awakened and he realized that the scenario is not a joke. Apparently, the bank as a precautionary measure, blocked this transaction from happening. Bovis chose to take his iPhone to an Apple store where it was examined.

To their amazement, the iDevice went on to consume an immense amount of data, even when it was “switched off”! In the end, the Apple store proclaimed the iPhone to be flawed and complied to displace it. Orange, then, apologized for the impairment and slice his bill to zero. What a near miss!

An iPhone 5 advertisement showing the Do Not Disturb iOS 6 feature An iPhone 5 advertisement showing the Do Not Disturb iOS 6 feature(0)

Apple has rolled out a new commercial from 1st of January, which ironically highlights a feature in the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 which is not working properly.

This new ad for Apple’s latest iPhone is about the Do Not Disturb mode of iOS 6, which, when turned on, is supposed to permit only important phone calls to come through during a particular time frame. It will also only ring if you receive multiple phone calls back-to-back. In all other situations, the phone will remain silent for the time duration selected for the Do Not Disturb mode.

The fact of the matter is that this feature is still not working perfectly for some iOS 6 users. Apple has an answer for that- “just wait until January 7th and it’ll start working correctly again”. But in the meanwhile if you put the Do Not Disturb mode on in your iPhone, make sure to keep an eye on the phone before sleeping an after waking up so that you’re not disturbed during your dream of playing tennis with the Williams sisters!

Stay tuned for updates and more information about the iPhone and many other gadgets!

Apple already testing iPhone 6 & iOS 7, appears on app usage logs Apple already testing iPhone 6 & iOS 7, appears on app usage logs(0)

Notwithstanding that the iPhone 5 is accessible considerably surrounding the planet, news regarding the cutting edge of iPhone have as of now started. As per the news going in, Apple is as of now trying a ‘iPhone 6’ and iOS 7.

Developers are currently reporting that they are seeing ‘iPhone 6,1’ showing up in the regulation logs running on iOS 7 which is needed to be discharged in the midst of the year, perhaps at the WWDC 2013 in June.

The iPhone 5 has its has its identifiers as iPhone 5.1 and iPhone 5.2 which varies and hinges on the LTE and 4G group which the 4- creep smartphone works on. In any case if the identifier which showed up is iPhone 6,1, it truly doesn’t intimate that Apple may discharge the iPhone 6 in June. There is an elevated plausibility that we might see the iPhone 5S start in June, as the iPhone 4S was iPhone 4,1 and the iPhone 4 was iPhone 3,1.

While the apparatus identifier parts might be effortlessly faked, however the IP location go onto disclose that the trying of applications on the fittings began from Apple’s Cupertino grounds, in this manner the honesty of the trying is affirmed.

Once more in May the previous year, designers began seeing the references of iOS 6 in regulation logs and a month later, Apple presented iOS 6 and the same might be wanted with iOS 7, six months from now.
