Samsung may bring back the under-display camera (UDC) to the Galaxy Z Fold 9 after abandoning the feature on the Z Fold 8. According to a tipster, the South Korean brand is considering reintroducing UDC—a technology it first debuted on earlier Galaxy Z Fold models—potentially taking inspiration from Apple’s recently launched foldable iPhone Duo.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 notably omitted several features that Samsung had pioneered in its foldable lineup, some of which Apple later adopted for its first foldable device. The possible return of UDC would mark a strategic shift as Samsung looks to reclaim its edge in the foldable market.
